Dear Mr. Cummins,
I would like to ask your honest thoughts / advice about my particular
circumstances. I live in San Luis Obispo County (Calif.); am 45 years
old; have (multiple trauma) PTSD (so work better alone) and some
pretty painful back issues which force me to stop work as needed.
Having said this, I love construction work and can do many facets of
it very well. My (step) father was a GC and one of my favorite things
to do as a child was sit and watch the mason he always worked with
while he was laying brick...one of the nicest guys I knew as a kid.
Anyway, after going through your site and thinking about what my goals
might be...this is what I came up with: I would like to work part time
for someone or on an "as needed" basis but also work for myself on
what is probably considered a "small scale" so that I might do smaller
jobs for the folks around here and be certified to do so. In your
opinion, considering my limitations, is this possible / a reasonable &
or attainable goal?
Thank you so much for your time. I really appreciate it!

Hello Julie

Where to begin?  To start I have trained more women to be bricklayers that anyone in the USA.  I find women do very well, in fact they are easier to teach top quality workmanship than men.

Having said that, here is what I want to run by you, and you make the final decision.  Here is what I suggest you do.

1.  Go into business for yourself.  I will lead you all the way when you ask for my help.
2.  Start off doing and maybe continue always to do nothing but
A.  Masonry Repair
B.  Brick Mailboxes
C.  Outdoor Fire pits
D.  Waterfalls around man/woman made ponds, and pools in back yards.
E.
F.
G. And so forth.

I have trained people who do nothing but the above and make well over $100,000 a year.  Working for yourself is the way to go, as you will be able to work your own hours, take off when you choose, and the best part of it all is.

WHEN YOUR THE BOSS-----------------YOU CAN DO IT ANY DAMN WAY YOU WANT TO.  (((  SMILE  )))

Also when it comes to grunt work, there are plenty of people you can have come do it who unlike you, (they have no skill)

I live in Phoenix, and I am waiting for my partner/ investor to come up with his part of the money, and we will be opening up an employment staffing company in California.  I will be training people for free and placing them with mason contractors.

However, with what you have told me that you want to do, WORK FOR YOURSELF, will be very easy for you to do, and I can have you run thru the Master Course real fast, and in ONE WEEK--------YES ONE WEEK, 40 hours of hands on training using my course, you can starting running ads in the paper for small projects.

Now if the above interests you, please get back with me.  It all starts when you make the next move which is get back to me today with any questions you may have either by email, or call me 24/7 at 602 692 1896, and the sooner you purchase the master course, (that is if you decide to do it)  the faster you get started, and I will have you working for yourself in one week.

When you start making too much money, you will need to get a contractors license in California, which will require you to take a test. NO BIG DEAL, I WILL WALK YOU THRU HOW TO DO IT AND PASS IT THE FIRST TIME YOU TAKE IT.  You know enough people in the construction industry now like you step dad, or people who will say that you have X number of years in the field.  Easy to get and prove.

Go for it Girl
Charlie
